Philipp August Kühne built the stables in 1869. What is particularly unusual about this stableblock is the artistic brickwork of the red brick vaulted ceiling. The cast-iron pillars are made of decommissioned cannon barrels from Magdeburg-based Krupp Gruson steel factory, giving them a peaceful purpose in retirement.
Today, it is home to our restaurant “Philipp August”, the lobby bar with its open fire and a library. The restaurant serves a selection of refined, light dishes comprising regional and seasonal products with influences from cuisines from all corners of the globe.
